A large and exciting Hevajara, with 16 arms and nine heads.
In Tantric Buddhism, Hevajara has the rank of a Buddha and is traditionally depicted dancing over a demon.
The provenance of this piece is unknown, but the style is Bayon (1177 – 1237). It would appear to be a major reconstruction of extraordinary quality. An authentic piece of such a size and condition with provenance would be priceless.
